On the last day of the 50th Celebration at Cooma in 1998, a REMLR founding member found Ken J.'s very original (unrestored - unmolested) 1964 Series 2A ¼ Ton G.S. Land-Rover. Ken's Landy was manufactured and delivered to the Army in the same month as Castrol and given the ARN 113-328. Ken brought it from the Moorebank NSW surplus disposals auction in 1980 and he has used it on the farm ever since. For those keeping count, Ken has owned this Landy over 30 years now which must be the record amongst enthusiasts at REMLR. This Landy still earns it keep around the farm and the photos show Ken has kept it in good condition in comparison to similar age Landys. It is truly in remarkable condition for it's age. No rust. No passing thru the hands of sundry adolescent-beach-driving-owners for years like Castrol and many other ex-Army Landys (because of the sun & fun appeal of soft-tops). Thank you Ken for these 2013 photos. |
