These photos are of Javier De Mazarras' 1982 ex-Spanish Army Series 3 88" 'Lightweight' Santana. He lives near Madrid and he calls his Landy Artillero which means Gunner or Artilleryman. Javier is a member of Club LandRover Todo Terreno De España (website www.clublandrovertt.org) and other clubs. Click here to email Javier. Artillero is a Command and Personnel version of the Santana 'Lightweight'. There is seating for 6 'personnel' in total. It is a 24V Diesel with a full rear tailgate, 4 air lift tongues (cancamos) in the wheels, 2 jerry can holders, twin tanks, etc. It has markings indicating service with the XII Self Propelled Field Artillery Group of the 1st Armoured Division Brunete (Spanish Army). In 1982 it was delivered new to "Grupo De Artillería De Campaña XII" as a commanding officer's vehicle. In 1992 it was replaced in this role and Artillero was sent to the "Escuela De Logistica Del Ejercito De Tierra", serving as a driving school vehicle fitted with dual controls. In 2000 it was put up for auction and then Javier adquired it in a very good condition (May 2001). |
