R.A.N Series 2 88

 REMLR member Bruce P recently bought a Series 2 88 which is an ex RAN vehicle. This is what he had to say about it.

This vehicle is as bought from the services ex HMAS Albatross near Nowra. As far as I know it towed a slasher and was the airstrip lawnmower for there and Jervis Bay. The chassis no. is 143900024. Number 24 of the 1959 models.

Interestingly, this chassis number predates the army Series 2 contract. The tower signals sticker is almost identical to the one used in military airport vehicles to this day.

There is also some evidence that the Navy had some Series 1 Land Rovers as well, but to date we don't have any further information or evidence of that. If anybody has any, please contact us at REMLR.
