The Registry Of Ex-Military Land-Rovers Au, NZ, etc Australian Army Radio Equipment

Radio Equipment Fitted to vehicles

The Australian Army has been fitting radios to their Land Rovers almost since they bought their first one. Since the Series 2 Fitted For Wireless (FFW), through to the Series 2a Fitted for Transceiver (FFT) as well as the Series 3 and Perentie 110 Fitted For Radio variants (FFR). On top of those specialist vehicles, Ambulances, Workshop vehicles, Command vehicles and more have had radio sets of various types installed. This page is intended with providing reference photos and documents of each of these variants and how they were laid out, and how they came to be laid out that way.

This page will be in a constant state of update, change and revision for some time. If you have something to contribute, or would like to assist in updating this page, please contact REMLR.

When these vehicles were designed the current radio was the ANPRC10 set and as a result, just to the left of the ration box fitted to the firewall was a "u" shaped bracket that was designed to hold this radio in an upright position.
