This does not appear to be an official variant, rather a modified general service vehicle. It has been modified with the neccessary equipment to lay communications and other cables. |

Again, whilst not a true "Perentie" these vehicles are modified Defender vehicles again. In this case on special order by the Australian Army. They are 2 door hard tops with storage for equipment and a jerry can in 2 side lockers, and bench seats in the rear of the vehicle. These only have a short service life, but are far cheaper to procure. They were purchased as a stopgap to fill holes in the supply of 110 perentie vehicles. For more photos of this model visit the Stopgap TD5 page. |

Armygeddon was a 6x6 GS that was modified by apprentices and contractors as a PR vehicle. It had a blown v8 fitted, locking diffs and various other modifications so that it could be used for purnouts and PR work. It sported a number of paint schemes in its life, however due to cost it was retired from service in 2009. |
