The Registry Of Ex-Military Land-Rovers Au, NZ, etc

National Military Vehicle Museum

In late 2009 Richard Green visited the South Australia Military Vehicle Museum.

The museum at it's current premises is a little hard to find, but is well worth the effort. The collection is in good condition, in a well arranged building and a wide variety of vehicles are on display.

There are a number of land rovers and international trucks on display including an interesting international semi trailer (more photos see this link).

The museum is also constantly restoring vehicles through donations by members and work by members as well as work for the dole programs. At the time of our visit two International No.1 Mk.1 trucks were being restored to one good vehicle for display.

For more information visit the museum website here.

This cutaway land Rover is for instructing mechanic apprentices. It is very similar to the unit in the Army Museum Bandiana.

This body once sat on a unimog chassis and was a prototype that was for the competition that was won by the Bushmaster. Built by Shorts the museum would dearly love to get a unimog running gear to put back under it.
