Leyland Mastiff

The Leyland Mastiff was a large off road truck that competed against the Mack and Hino in the trials for the Heavy Truck. History shows that the Mack won that selection, but these photos give an interesting idea of what could have been had Leyland been Successful.

The three trucks trialed are quite easy to tell apart.  LL1 had standard front rims and tyres and Super Single rears. LL2 had Super Singles all around & LL3 had standard fronts with double rears.

There photos were taken at at: Leyaland Australia, Moorebank outside the Engineering Services building which later became the Land Rover 110 Perentie production line, Woomera and northern Australia, we suspect Tully.
