After the various ANZAC Day marches, when REMLR enthusiast's vehicles are all looking as tidy as can be, various show 'n shine events happened despite some difficulties.
The 2002 events -for the most part- didn't come off as planned at all. It's not as easy as it appears to get an event happening. The weather was a big factor, but so was time and money (and things like me changing jobs)... but it was the first attempt to organize inter-state (& New Zealand) events by emails and phone calls. So at least we have gained experience and can look forward to next year...
NZ REMLR event organising where and when...Wouldn't it be great
to be in the photos of the first event in New Zealand!
NSW REMLR event was to be on the Saturday after ANZAC day,
but was bumped due to unforeseen circumstances for a fortnight...
and on that day it was raining too. That didn't stop Ana Z. and Philip
H. and families from giving 100% and touring the Hunter Vineyards
anyway. (see their pics below).
VIC REMLR event followed ANZAC march, April 25 in Melbourne
urban area. Quite a few Landys. It was very wet in the afternoon and
certain members without canvas got soaked.
QLD REMLR event followed ANZAC march, April 25 in area north
of Brisbane. Beaut day and some non-REMLR participants.
SA REMLR at the Land-Rover Registry of SA Blinman Rally May
17-20. There were some really nice Landys there - but the weather
was nasty at times. (see Dennis M's pics below -if the Landy's are
yours, tell us so we can put your names to your Landys.)
TAS REMLR event: Tasmanian REMLR "Tons Of LandRovers" location
was likely to be at Lyons Park on ANZAC Day, but it was cancelled
- we need more members and less bureaucrats in Tasmania!
WA REMLR event: Western Australians ended up organizing a visit
to the SASR Historical Collection at the SASR Barracks. Even though
this first day out took a long while to end up happening, when it
did the results and pics turned out very well. Brian B., Phillip H.,
and Matthew R. attended: Click
