The Registry Of Ex-Military Land-Rovers Au, NZ, etc REMLR Land-Rover's on ANZAC Day 2002

These photos are of REMLR member's ANZAC Day activities in 2002.

New South Wales: for Castrol, ANZAC Day was not as busy as usual. There was a phone call from one sub-branch committee with concerns about liability insurance: Castrol was not able to be in the march this year and the march that did go ahead with the old 'n bold was shortened.

But the Cessnock march went ahead as good as ever. The weather was fine - blue sky all day. There was even a RAAF FA-18 flypast before the march and an Army Huey that circled around the park afterwards (organised by some Vietnam Veterans - though they were expecting a Chinook).

Dennis attended with Chloe and Wee-Wullie and I attended in Castrol. When we arrived there was something of a surprise - a new acquaintance by the name of Peter with his WWII Jeep; a total of 4 ¼ ton ex-Army 4x4's. The march went off without a hitch once again and Cesnock RSL's own (newly formed) Pipes 'n Drums were pretty good.

PS: This day's Joe Coolin' led to the footnotes on this page.

Victoria: although many Land-Rovers attended ANZAC Day in Melbourne, the weather was atrocious. The photos taken by John B. to contribute to the 2002 "Tons Of Land-Rovers" show that it was dark, stormy and very, very wet. "I have not got so wet in all my life. When I got out of the Landy at home, water was running out of me everywhere," says John. John was in his Gunbuggy that day... there was a nice variety of military Land-Rover variants and other military vehicles.
