Information about these vehicles is fairly scarce. Certainly people have described using Land Rover Discoveries on UN deployments to various peacekeeping missions, but it was never clear who owned the vehicles in each instance. Member 129 test drove a first generation Discovery TDI in Tasmania whose owner handbook noted that the Department of Defence was the original owner. That particular vehicle was an olive green civilian vehicle and had no out of the ordinary modifications.

Recently a photo has come to light of another Army owned first generation Discovery, a silver V8 in this case shown below. We have no Vin details for either, but if you know of any please let us know.
