| On the last day of the 50th Celebration at Cooma, an REMLR member found Ken J.'s very original (unrestored - unmolested) 1964 Series 2A SWB G.S. Ex-Army Land-Rover... made and delivered to the Army in the same month as Castrol. Ken's vehicle, ARN 113-303, was in Army service until 1969 and then storage with other vehicles. Ken brought it from the Holsworthy/Ingleburn base auction in 1980 and he has used it on the farm ever since. The day we saw it was the first time for years it had been off the farm at all. It was getting professional attention to the brakes. It is in remarkable condition for it's age. No rust. No passing thru the hands of sundry adolescent-beach-driving-owners for 15 years like Castrol and many other ex-Army Landys -because of the sun & fun appeal of soft-tops. This was the "pot of gold at the end of the rainbow"... an authentic verification of that census type CES fittings. Thank you KJ! |
